Starting January 8th, we will be having regular visits from Samoan American Mental Health Therapist Scarlett Ekeroma at Mount Tahoma High School - 4634 S 74th St, Tacoma, WA 98409
She will be in our APCC Classroom in 2305 at Mount Tahoma High School from 11:15 AM - 1:15 PM (during both lunches!) on Wednesday, January 8th.
This is part of our place-based initiative to meet the community where they are at. We want to remove as many barriers to accessing mental health resources by physically bringing our mental health therapists to where the community already gathers, building trust, and creating ease of access to getting registered for our free mental health therapy sessions.
Also, when our students, in particular, see mental health therapy providers like Scarlett Ekeroma, who is one of only two licensed Samoan Mental Health Therapists in the State of Washington, seeing therapists that look like them and have similar cultural practices and lived experiences continues to break the stigma around mental health.
However, if you or anyone you know would like to schedule more one-on-one sessions with Scarlett (who also happens to be one of only two licensed Samoan Mental Health Therapists in the State of Washington), you can sign up through this link to access up to 5 free mental health therapy sessions with Scarlett or any of our licensed mental health therapists: bit.ly/apccmentalhealthintakeform
