Hanji Fashion Show Big Success at Seattle Asian Art Museum and Tacoma Museum of Glass
On July 30th at the Seattle Asian Art Museum and August 2nd at the Tacoma Museum of Glass, in commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the Gunsan-Tacoma sister cities partnership, Korean Ancient Art Culture Hanji Papermaking joined with one of Korea's fast rising fashion designers, Yang-Bae Jeong to create, design and present for the first time in the Pacific Northwest a Hanji paper Fashion Show. Beautiful, original exquisite designer gowns, dresses, and a variety of other women's apparel were all on display. Sold out venues for both events, a feast for the eyes was had by all. Many from the local Korean community were in attendance and were all very proud of the modern use of ancient traditional Hanji paper. Guests were also treated to Asian themed hor d'oeuvres and drinks. Thank you to all the wonderful friends and supporters who helped to make the fashion shows possible. Local model agencies, make up crews, camera crews, SAM and APCC staff brought their expertise, resources and energy together and helped make this event a resounding success.
